Rio Tinto red river |
2. Rio Tinto red river
The river originates from the Sierra de Huelva mountain in Andalusia, Spain. Copper, gold, silver and iron have been dissolved in water for about five thousand years. Due to which, the water color of the river is reddish. This river is considered to be the birthplace of the Copper Age and Bronze Age. After a long abandonment, it was restored by the Spanish government in 1824. Excessive excavation by various agencies increased the acidity of the river water in the nineteenth century, which was detrimental to the ecosystem. The multinational company Rio Tinto was then given charge of the river. Hence another name for this river is 'Rio Tinto'. Although the river has become dangerous for humans due to its acidity, scientists have found that its water creates a kind of condition called extremophilic aerobic bacteria. Scientists believe that Jupiter's satellite Europe has a sea of such acid under the ground. They believe that the bacteria in the Rio Tinto River have similarities with the biodiversity of Europe.
Keano Cristal river |
3.Keano Cristal river
According to many, it is the most beautiful river in the world. The 100-kilometer-long river flows through the rugged mountains of Colombia, South America. With the change of each season of the year, this river also comes in different colors. Yellow, green, blue, black and red - these five colors are seen playing in the river water. That is why this river is also called ‘The River of Five Colors’. When the speed and altitude of the river water are suitable for changing the color of algae plants called Macarenia clavigera, they turn from green to red. This colorful appearance of the river is due to the flowers of algae and marshy plants under the water. The ideal time to enjoy this beauty is from June to November. Sunlight does not reach the bottom of the river as the water and currents of the river increase during the monsoon. So the flowers do not bloom. In the same way, in the heat of the day, the water of the river decreases. However, more than 200 tourists are not allowed to visit here every day for fear of losing biodiversity. Tourists also have the opportunity to swim in one part of the river.

If you look at the picture, you will understand that the tributary of white water is Hollims. The silt, mud, and sand, along with the water that flows through the jungles of the Amazon, originating from the Andes Mountains, have colored the tributary much like French coffee. The water color of the Rio Negro River is black. About 750 km of the 2,253 km long tributary flows through Brazil. Its water color is black for various shrubs and herbs. About 800-100 species of fish are found in this tributary. Another strange fact is that the waters of the Rio Negro River carry no sediment. The difference in water temperature, velocity and density of the two rivers does not allow them to mix. The Rio Negro is one of the cleanest water rivers in the world, according to the European Space Agency.
